Focus: As the number of older adults in our community continues to grow, the School of Nursing (SON) has a responsibility to provide resources including assessment and health information to promote robust aging among this population. This is congruent with the SON mission.
Purpose: To provide a basic health assessment using a multi-dimensional health promotion model. To motivate older adults to engage in healthy behaviors to minimize chronic conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, depression, osteoporosis and other conditions common among older adults through education and other resources. |
